Richard Hyland, President
After serving with the U.S. Navy for four years including combat operations in Vietnam,
Richard was a civil servant managing a machine shop for whom? in Newport, RI. He then became
the sub-sea engineer with an underwater exploration drilling company. In 1985, he recognized
the value of the Hotsy power wash systems and opened Hyland Equipment Company, Inc. d/b/a
R.I.Hotsy. From that beginning, he has developed a new and separate? division which manufactures
all types of ultafiltration systems and more recently has expanded into the development and
manufacture of automated production systems including becoming a qualified
Fanuc Robotics integrator.

Gil Tourgee, Vice President, Marketing
Gil attended both the University of Rhode Island and the University of Maryland. He has over 35 years
in the machine tool and metal working industries. He joined Hyland Equipment Company in 2001 and is
the Vice President of Marketing. He has used his knowledge of Ferris and non-Ferris metals in developing
new products, as well as providing his client base the best applications to meet their needs. He has
developed an ultrafiltration dealership program to expand the Hyland
Equipment Company nationwide.
