After being responsible for the undersea wellhead equipment of an exploration drilling company, and using the experience he gained to manage a machine department for the U.S. Navy in Newport, RI, Richard obtained a Hotsy power washer dealer and distributorship and opened the company in 1985. Hyland Equipment Company has the exclusive Hotsy distributorship in all of Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut.

In 1988, Richard recognized the growing need for Ultrafiltration Systems and began to design and manufacture systems using several types of technologies. The remarkable success of this product stems from Hyland Equipment recommending and installing technology that matches the customer's needs.

In 1995, an ultrafiltration system dealership program was established to deliver systems nationwide. In the late 1990's Richard began manufacturing larger ultrafiltration systems that included the use of Dissolved Air Filtration (DAF) to handle greater volumes of waste water.

Currently, Hyland Equipment Company has a major parts and repair facility for most commercial power wash machines. To increase customer service, the company also picks up and delivers all mobile power wash machines. Stationary machines and systems are serviced on-site with training available for client personnel to learn now to maintain the systems. Hyland Equipment Company has also developed a Service Agreement program to help maintain all the equipment and machines that we sell.
