Hylander Dissolved Air Flotation
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is used as a method to separate contaminants from various waste streams.
In the past, DAF systems were used only for high flow applications. Recent technology now makes it possible to
economically treat low flow applications using a new pump design and the
patented Redux Clarifier.
The Hylander/Redux DAF uses a new pump design developed for Dissolved Air Flotation. Air is
drawn into the pump at the suction side and forced into solution under pressure. When the pressure is released,
the air becomes an effervescent stream of very tiny bubbles (30 micron in size) that attach to the coagulated
particles. This new DAF design eliminates the need for large air compressors, holding tanks for residence time
and extra pumps and piping.
Hylander/Redux DAF Systems can process flow rates
as low as 3 GPM or as high as 100 GPM.
